The District Trustee Board plays a vital role in the running of a Scout District. Trustees make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the resources are available so that the best quality Scouting can be delivered in the District.
Our Trustee Board is a team of volunteers who work together, as charity trustees, to make sure Durham City Scouts is run safely and legally. Our Trustee Board makes sure the District:
- Has enough money for now and in the future. This includes overseeing our budget, having a reserves policy and making sure fundraising takes place, if it’s needed.
- Operates safely. This includes managing our risk register, and having strategic oversight of activities across the district.
- Follows charity law. This includes producing the Trustees Annual Report and Statement of Accounts, ensuring sufficient scrutiny, and holding an Annual General Meeting.
