Jayne has overall responsibility for the District. It is her role to ensure the district runs effectively and that Scouting develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association so that young people can benefit from good quality scouting.

Darren looks after the volunteer experience and journey. He works with the District’s Welcome, Learning, Nights Away and Awards & Recognition teams to ensure everyone feels valued and supported in their roles..

The programme team leads specific area of responsibility is programme support. The post holder leads our Programme Team and various sub teams to ensure young people are getting the very best programme opportunities.

Slimer
Support Team Lead
Slimer is responsible for support across the district. He looks after our district equipment maintenance and bookings, as well as overseeing our website, comms, social media, and digital administration.

Alfie Baker
District Youth Lead
Alfie provides young people in the district a voice at a senior level. He ensures that young people from 6 – 25 years are involved and engaged in every decision that shapes their Scouting experience locally, to empower young people to share their ideas and have a meaningful voice in planning, implementing and reviewing their programme and opportunities.

Nick Bucknall
14-24 Team Leader
Nick as the 14–24 Team Lead is responsible for all volunteers in Explorer, Young Leader, and Scout Network Section Teams. He helps and supports Section Teams plan and deliver great programmes for young people.
Group Lead Volunteers
The Group Lead Volunteer(s) from each group in Durham City District also make up our leadership team. Having the GLV’s involved ensures we have a good all round representation from across the district when discussing key matters that ultimately improves what we offer for our young people.
